New York, NY

In early June Emily and I took a trip to Hoboken, NJ. to visit some good friends. I traveled with a camera and couple different lenses to capture the weekend with Mark, Kate and their dog Emma. We went into the city for the day to visit the 9/11 Memorial and the new world trade towers. After lunch on the water we made our way through Wall Street and then headed over the Brooklyn Bridge. Lastly, we took an evening stroll along the NJ side of the river on the newly constructed Pier C Park. Here are some pictures from the weekend of good food and great company. Thanks again to our hosts Kate and Mark!

A Family Tradition

For over 100 years my family has kept the tradition of gathering the weekend before Christmas to make pierogies. Although I’m mainly Italian, my great grandmother, Helen, was Polish, hence where the pierogies come from. We follow her infamous recipe that has been passed down from her to my grandmother, Stella, and then two more generations. After making a few pierogies, I decided to pick up my camera to document the process for the first time in decades. Here are a few images from the afternoon. Enjoy!

Sunset Beach, CA

Most of my friends and family know I just returned from Sunset Beach California where I spent 3 days shooting for a book on barefoot running. (Stay tuned for a post!) Until then I leave you with a few quick images captured during some downtime…
