The Year in Pictures

Each year I take thousands of photographs during my staff job as a photojournalist for Gatehouse Media’s Northwest unit.  This week I was notified that I won NENPA (New England Newspaper and Press Association) awards for Spot News and Feature photographs. With the awards ceremony coming up in February at the Park Plaza, I will be sure to keep you posted! Below is a selection of my favorite photographs of 2011. Enjoy!

06/08/11 — WOBURN, MA. — Kurt Hood from the New England Aquarium uses a doppler to measure the heart rate on Saturn, a rescued, juvenile Kemp’s ridley sea turtle as he undergoes a CT scan to see if his persistent case of pneumonia has been successfully treated. Saturn was being seen at the Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital in Woburn on Wednesday morning.
